Freesbe
Phone system add-on

Read your voicemail before you play it.

Everyone on the phone system has voicemail from the moment they're on it, with nothing to set up. When you don't answer, callers hear your greeting and leave a message that arrives in Freesbe as a message from Phone: the recording, what they said written out, and a Call back button. Get each one by email too.

  • Know what the call was about in a glance, without headphones.
  • Call back in one click, from the message, the Voicemail tab or your phone.
  • See new voicemails and missed calls counted in red on the phone button.
  • Greet callers in your own words, or let the standard greeting keep up with your name and extension.
  • Have each voicemail in your inbox too, with the recording attached.

For Anyone who takes customer calls and can't pick up every one.

A voicemail in Freesbe: a message from Phone saying who called and for how long, what they said, and the recording to play

A message, not a mailbox

Each voicemail comes to you as a message from Phone in your own DM, like Voicemail from (415) 555-0142 (0:42), with the recording to play right there. Under it is what the caller said, written out by the same speech to text as meeting transcripts, so you can read it without playing it, and a Call back button that calls them from Freesbe. You get a notification like for any message, and the recording stays with your files. A colleague's voicemail shows their name and extension.

The Voicemail tab, and a count you can't miss

The phone's Voicemail tab lists yours, newest first, with what each caller said under it. New ones have a red play button and a dot; play one and it's marked heard everywhere you use Freesbe. Call the person back or delete it. The phone button in the top bar counts your new voicemails and missed calls in red, and the count goes down as you play them. A missed call shows on screen like a message, with a notification when Freesbe isn't in front.

Your greeting, your way

Everyone starts with the standard greeting, which says who they reached and your extension and keeps up on its own when your name or extension changes. To use your own, type it and pick a voice, with Listen to hear it read out; record it into your microphone; or upload an MP3, M4A or WAV, up to 5 minutes. Save and callers hear it from their next call. Hear what callers hear plays the greeting your voicemail has now.

By email, if you like

Turn on Email me each voicemail and every voicemail goes to the address you sign in with, with the recording attached, who called, how long it is and what they said written out. Voicemails still come to you in Freesbe too; leave it off to keep them in the app only. A recording too long to attach comes as a link to play it in Freesbe instead.

On your phone, too

The phone app's Voicemail tab lists your messages newest first with new ones in bold. Tap one to read what the caller said and play it, tap the bar to jump ahead, and call back or delete it from the same row. Playing it marks it heard on every device. The Calls tab's badge counts your new voicemails.

Questions

Which plan includes this?
Voicemail is part of the Phone system add-on, on top of any paid plan. Everyone on the phone system has it, free, with nothing to turn on.
Where do after-hours calls go?
Wherever the number says: with business hours on, after-hours calls can go to the voicemail of the first person the number rings, which comes to them in Freesbe like any other voicemail, or to a menu or a queue.
Can admins turn the transcripts off?
Yes. When an admin turns transcripts off under Recordings, voicemails come with the recording only.
What does a caller hear when I'm on another call?
A call that comes in while you're already on one isn't put through, so it goes on as if you didn't answer and reaches your voicemail after the time you set in Follow-Me, 25 seconds unless you change it.
