Mattermost is a chat you run on your own servers, with paid plans quoted by sales as annual subscriptions. Freesbe is hosted for you in the region you pick, free for up to 10 people and priced per person, with huddles, meetings, a phone system and a customer inbox built in. A team that must self-host stays with Mattermost.
For Companies that chose Mattermost for control and want the control without the servers.
Freesbe is hosted by Freesbe. At sign-up you pick where the workspace's data lives, in the EU, the US, APAC or Oceania, and it stays there. Updates arrive on their own, on the web, the desktop apps and the phones, and the status page says when something is wrong.
A huddle starts in any channel with up to 20 people. A scheduled meeting has a guest link and a lobby. Workflows handle forms, approvals and schedules. The customer inbox brings web chat, support email, WhatsApp and Telegram into a channel. The phone system add-on gives each person a number. None of it is a plugin to install.
Start free with up to 10 people and try it today, or book a 20-minute demo with the people who make Freesbe.
Require Google or Microsoft sign-in on Corporate and Enterprise, or a second factor on Business, Corporate and Enterprise. Decide which file types are allowed and how long recordings are kept. Hand each admin only the part they run. Read every change in the audit log and export the data in Slack's format whenever you like.
Mattermost runs on your own hardware, air-gapped if you need it, which some regulated and defense teams require; it scales to tens of thousands of concurrent users and is open to extend. If the rule is that no message leaves the building, Mattermost is the right tool and Freesbe isn't.
Freesbe's prices come from its pricing catalog. Mattermost lists no prices on its pricing page; its plans are quoted by sales.
