Datadog alerts, where your team already talks.

Freesbe's Datadog integration posts each monitor alert into the channel you pick, as one card with its severity, the monitor's title, the host, the message and tags. Re-notifications don't post again, and the card turns green when the monitor recovers. With an API key and an application key, anyone in the channel can mute the monitor for the host that alerted, for an hour, from the card.

  • One card per alert cycle, from Triggered to Recovered, however often Datadog re-notifies.
  • Mute for 1 hour from the card, for the host or group that alerted.
  • Severity from the monitor's priority, or alert, warning and No Data.
  • A live problems board pinned at the top of the channel.
  • Every Datadog site: US1, US3, US5, EU, AP1 and US1-FED.

For Ops and on-call engineers who want the whole team to see what's firing.

#platform with Datadog alerts: an order queue backing up, disk filling on a database, and a checkout latency alert that recovered

One card per alert, kept current

A webhook in Datadog's Webhooks integration, mentioned in the monitors that should post. Each alert cycle is one card, from Triggered to Recovered.

  • Severity from the monitor's priority, or alert, warning and No Data
  • The host, the message and the monitor's tags
  • Turns green with how long it lasted, and a reply for people following it

Mute for 1 hour, from the card

Give Freesbe an API key and an application key, and a Mute for 1 hour button appears on every alerting card. It mutes the monitor for the host or group that alerted.

A live problems board and reports

One card at the top of the channel lists every monitor alerting right now, worst first. Daily or weekly reports count alerts by severity, the typical time to recover and the noisiest monitors.

Questions

Which Datadog sites work?
All of them: US1, US3, US5, EU, AP1 and US1-FED. Enter the address you open Datadog at, and Freesbe calls that site's API.
Can different monitors go to different channels?
Yes. Connect Datadog once per channel, give each its own webhook name in Datadog, and mention the right one in each monitor.
