Phone system add-on

Send 911 help to the right door.

Admins add the workspace's emergency addresses, with the street number and suite or floor, and each shows whether the carrier confirmed it. Each person picks where they work from, an office or a place only they see, like home. When someone calls 911, a channel or every admin hears about it right away, with who called and from where.

  • Send emergency services to the floor and suite, not the company's billing address.
  • Cover people at home with an address only they see.
  • Know within seconds that someone in the building called 911, and how to reach them.
  • See at a glance which addresses the carrier has confirmed.

For Office managers and IT teams responsible for a workplace in the United States or Canada.

Phone, Emergency calling: the Seattle office as the default and the Tacoma warehouse, both confirmed, and 911 alerts going to every admin

Your offices, confirmed by the carrier

Under the numbers, Emergency calling (E911) keeps the addresses emergency services are sent to: add your offices with the street number and suite or floor. The first is the Default address, used for everyone who hasn't picked a place, and with more than one you can pick another default. Each address shows Confirmed, or Needs fixing. An address people work from, or the default, can't be removed until they pick another. Addresses are in the United States and Canada.

Emergency calling in the Admin Center: two confirmed addresses, one of them the default

Where each person works from

Everyone picks where they work from in Preferences: one of the workspace's offices, or Add a place, like home, for an address only they see. If you call 911 from Freesbe, emergency services are sent there. Change it when you work somewhere else, because Freesbe's phone goes wherever your computer goes. Until you pick one, your calls use the workspace's default address.

Someone hears about it right away

When someone calls 911, tell picks who's told straight away, as US law asks: a channel like #front-desk, or every admin in a message from Phone. The message says who called, from which address, and the number to call them back on, so the front desk can meet the ambulance at the right entrance.

Questions

Which plan includes this?
Emergency calling is part of the Phone system add-on, on top of any paid plan, for numbers in the United States and Canada.
What if someone hasn't picked where they work from?
Their calls use the workspace's default address, the first one an admin added or the one picked as default.
Can people working from home be covered?
Yes. Each person can add a place like home, an address only they see, and pick it when they work there.
When are addresses sent to the carrier?
Addresses are saved now and sent to the carrier as soon as emergency registration turns on; until then they show as Saved, and afterwards Confirmed or Needs fixing.
